What motivated the birth of our roasting workshop and our coffee philosophy is the desire to value with sincerity and authenticity the backbreaking work and the passion of coffee growers.

This desire germinated in Carlos' head long before we met in Toulouse in 2018, Hayuco was still in the embryonic stage. He had a specific idea in mind: " to serve and make people discover coffee as the perfect link between his native country, Colombia, and France". Coffee is one of the few beverages that has such a universal character, an accelerator of social interactions that considerably reduces the distances between people. And it is this wish that we are trying to bring to life through our commitment within a collective like La REB, unprecedented in its ambition, its economic model, its level of transparency and the quality requirement that drives all the actors involved in the value chain, from member farms to partner roasters, like us.

This partnership was born in 2017 in Bogota, even before the birth of our workshop (November 2018) following a meeting between Carlos and Herbert Peñaloza, which turned into an exclusive European partnership a few months later and allowed us to receive the first pallets of bags arriving in Toulouse in the spring of 2019.

We are taking advantage of this period of confinement to come back through some photos of our last sourcing trip to Colombia, last November, from Bogota to the various farms of Ana Mustafa in the Risaralda region.

The obligatory passage: the quality control laboratory of the Collectif LaREB in Bogota with a cupping animated by Herbert.

Visit of a few days in one of the farms of Ana Mustafa in the department of Risaralda.
